Here are answers to the most common questions we get about our scented pickleballs.
Are these balls actually USAPA certified?
USAPA certification is coming soon! Every Smell My Pickleballs ball is designed to meet official USAPA standards for diameter, weight, bounce, holes, and material. You can use them in casual play with complete confidence, and tournament approval is on the way.
How long does the scent last?
The scent is infused into the ball material and lasts for weeks of regular play. You’ll notice it most when you first open the pack and during play. Even as it fades slightly, the quality and performance remain tournament-grade.
Do the scents really help with focus or bugs?
Yes! Citrus scents like Lemon Lob and Orange Smash are natural bug repellents, while Minty Drop Shot and Ocean Breeze Baseline have cooling and calming properties that can help reduce pre-game nerves. It’s aromatherapy meets athletics—and it works.
Can I buy individual scents or mix packs?
Right now, each pack of 3 comes in one scent. We’re exploring mix packs and subscription options based on customer feedback. Reach out and let us know what you’d like to see!
Do the scents affect ball performance?
No, not at all. The only thing they affect is you. The scent is designed to enhance your experience and mental game, while the ball performs exactly like any other USAPA certified (coming soon) pickleball.
Can these be used indoors or outdoors?
They are designed to be used anywhere. For now we are using the 40 hole design, but these play just as well in any location—whether you’re indoors or outdoors.
How much do the balls weigh?
Each fabulously scented ball weighs 25.5g.
